CELEBRATING THE CLASSICAL IDEAL

Inspired by classical antiquity and Greek mythology, my work explores the classical ideal, immortality, and the human form.

Sculptures of antiquity are reinterpreted with a pervasive visual energy of meticulous detail through a self developed technique.

With each drawing he introduces a new perception of reality, with features of imperfection that may have never existed in the original subject. Fractures and fragmentations serve to create unique characteristics, drawing the viewer closer into a journey of discovery and contemplation.

Workiing with a variety of graphite pencils on paper, he is invested in every intricate detail, approaching each drawing with a dedicated intensity. The unique characteristics of this technique demands that I put in endless hours, with each piece taking an average of 200 hours to complete.
